A Personal Note from Founder and CEO Ellen Coren

April 30, 2026 marked the start of my retirement and the closing of Chesapeake Public Strategies.

It's been more than 20 years since I opened Chesapeake's doors as a local lobbying and public affairs firm. During that time, the Chesapeake team sucessfully represented Fortune 500 companies, local corporations, developers, non-profits, charities and small businesses in the DMV.  We worked with myriad community groups, local residents and government officials to enhance the quality of life in our community.

I am most grateful to our clients and the totally amazing Chesapeake team for enabling me to have such a positive impact in the DMV, but particularly in Montgomery County.

I'm looking forward to staying involved in our community, but now as a volunteer! I will remain active in the Greater Bethesda Chamber of Commerce, the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District Board, the Friendship Heights Urban District Advisory Board and the Board of Sulam (a non-profit school that supports students with learning differences).

I cherish all of the good friends I have made through the years and look forward to maintaining those relationships, but on a fun basis!

All the best,
